Problem:
When opening a document in Excel from Windows Explorer you get an error message saying that the file is already in use and cannot be opened more than once, even when the document is not opened by anyone or another process.

Solution:

Start > Run

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /regserver
